In Beacon MFP, organizations provide a way to group related corporations under a single administrative structure. This hierarchy helps users manage multiple corporations and pharmacy locations efficiently by organizing them into logical groupings for visibility, reporting, and administration.
Organizations do not represent dispensing entities themselves; instead, they serve as an organizational layer, created by Beacon, that sits above corporations and pharmacies.
Where to View Organizations
Organizations and their associated corporations are visible in the Organizations module, in Beacon MFP. From this view, you can see how corporations are grouped, review existing organization names, and understand the operational structure of your account.
How Organizations Fit Into Beacon MFP
Beacon MFP uses a hierarchical structure to represent the relationships between dispensing entities. In this hierarchy there are three levels:
Organizations – Top-level grouping of related corporations.
Corporations – Represent either a logical grouping of pharmacy locations based on the NCPDP Relationship ID or an individual pharmacy location when no Relationship ID exists.
Pharmacies – Individual dispensing locations that are associated with a Relationship ID or operate independently.
This structure helps large dispensing entities and multi-site organizations maintain clear groupings for reporting, administration, and rebate tracking.
How Corporations Are Organized
When a corporation is registered in Beacon, it is automatically placed under an organization in the user’s account. Admin users can rename organizations or move corporations between organizations to better reflect their operational or business structure.
The authorized Admin who registers and enrolls the corporation is automatically made a administrator on the corporation's Beacon MFP account.
An Admin may group corporations under the same organization only if they are an administrator on both corporations.
